Review: 100% Pure Pigmented Fruit Lip Glaze
I may have mentioned a weakness for the bright pigments and gel texture of Dior Addict lipstick. I decided to switch my skincare to clean products a couple of months ago, but I couldn’t wrap my head around switching over makeup without finding a solid replacement for Dior Addict. After some extensive research, the first clean lipstick I chose to try was 100% Pure Pigmented Fruit Lip Glaze. I made a good choice.
If I stop being polite and start getting real, the worst thing about this Lip Glaze is the packaging. I’ve seen some of 100% Pure’s products in drugstores for years, and I’ve always recoiled at that cursive logo alone. The Pigmented Fruit Lip Glaze come in sleek, thin silver bullets with the cutest but ugliest cursive and leafy graffiti all over. The packaging is juvenile. This lipstick retails for $15, which is on the lower end of lipstick pricing as far as my habits go, but is also way too high for a product that looks targeted to preteens (whom your grandmother would tentatively call “tweens”).
The Lip Glazes have the gel texture that I crave in a lipstick; they’re moisturizing and have a little sheen without being at all sticky or too glossy.
The wear, too, is comparable to my beloved Dior Addict. Without heavy eating or drinking, the Lip Glaze lasts for a couple of hours. When the texture of the product wears off, it leaves behind a stain.
The Lip Glaze is moisturizing enough that I don’t need a light coat of a separate lip balm when I reapply.
A problematic aspect of this Lip Glaze is the limited color palette. 100% Pure sells TWENTY-ONE different Lip Glaze shades, and, well, they’re all pink. There’s this amazing swatch at Makeup Alley of the pink rainbow. I mostly wear pink lips, so I easily found colors that piqued my interest, but someone looking for a true red would likely be disappointed.
I purchased 100% Pure Pigmented Fruit Lip Glaze in three colors:
- Lychee: 100% Pure bills this as a “neutral naked pink,” and I agree with that assessment. Lychee is slightly warmer and slightly paler than my own medium cool pink lips. I wear Lychee on nights when I’d like to smoke out my eyes a little.
- Watermelon: The brand says this is a “sheer soft red.” I found this to be highly pigmented rather than sheer. The color is a bright, juicy, slightly reddish pink actually very true in tone to a ripe watermelon.
- Strawberry: Called a “sheer berry pink red,” this applies more sheer than Watermelon. The tone is ever so slightly pinker than Watermelon, but not much. I read this interview with Kaley Cuoco a while ago in which she talked about her love for bright pink lipstick. The image stuck with me. And while I don’t go for that bright a pink, Strawberry is now my go-to pick-me-up color.
Swatched, from left to right, are Lychee, Watermelon and Strawberry:

Great review! I've been itching for some new lipsticks and these look like something I'll have to check out.
Thanks =)
You are welcome! So long as you like pink, you can't go too wrong with these.
The colors of these lip glazes are so pretty! I see what you mean about the packaging though.
I might be a touch embarrassed to whip one of these out in a crowded bathroom.
I love the lychee and watermelon colours, pity it's so hard to find someone who ships to Australia.
Zara, Future Natural carries the 100% Pure Lip Glaze. They'll ship to Australia. It's expensive, but possibly worth it if you bundle a bunch of stuff at once.
Someone that loves red lip colors wouldn't be disappointed. I love red and got Cabernet. It looks like a dark red on the site but it's a true crimson red. Love it! Really like the colors you swatched too. I want the hot pink but can never pull off bright pinks :(
